At the 2015AGM, all four reps. were re-elected.
At the first post-AGM meeting, the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary
were re-elected; Sue Coulson was elected as Bookings Officer.
 
Pre-School Garden:
 
The Village Hall & Recreation Ground Committee has just approved a request from Staple Pre-School
to create a small garden for use by the Pre-School pupils.  This will be located on the area of ground at
the far end of the Hall (to the left of the container).  This is an un-used area of the grounds and the
committee is pleased to se it being used for such a novel and worthwhile purpose.
 
Recreation Ground & Play Equipment:
 
The new swing has proved extremely popular and appears to be in constant use.
 
The play equipment has now been fully restored to its its former gleaming self.
All traces of rust, faded and flaking paint have now gone - and the wooden elements have all recieved
a thorough weatherproofing treatment/stain.
 
All of the concrete items on the Recreation Ground (steps, plinths and seat supports) have been
pressure jetted and look like new again!  The benches have also been cleaned /had their woodwork
treated.  And for good measure, even the gas container has been thoroughly cleaned!
 
The current committee is very aware of the need to carry out low-cost, routine maintenance rather than
neglect items until they require expensive refurbishment /replacement.
 
The recent refurbishment of the play equipment, although very thorough and comprehensive was carried
out at minimal cost, due to the Committee using the services of a very competitively priced contractor.
 
The refurbishment of the play equipment (and the soon to be completed replacement of the sheds) will
complete the current Committee's comprehensive, much-needed maintenance and refurbishment
programme of the Hall and its outbuildings / external equipment.
 
 Bookings:
 
*   The Village Hall Management Committee have simplified the booking fee structure. 
 
*   Arrangements for short-term hirers to collect / return the keys have been simplified.
 
*   Booking enquiries have significantly increased since the publishing of the Hall's own web site.
 
*   There is now a new, Online Booking Form.  (In addition to the Online Booking Enquiry Form)
 
*   There is now a new on-line Calendar; where would-be hirers can check the Hall's availability.
